Split Rock is as vibrant as they come for Sauvignon Blanc, packed full of tropical fruit and citrus. It’s from the pioneering Seifried family estate, who set up in the coastal Nelson region in 1973 (way before most of Marlborough next door).

Beyond the Label
Tropical guava, gooseberry and lime flavour with crisp green notes
Cooling sea breezes and abundant sunshine ensure vivacious, ripe fruit in this refreshing white. It’s named after the landmark Split Apple Rock in Abel Tasman National Park, where Hermann Seifried built a winery in 1973 with the help of his local church. He’d only arrived in New Zealand three years earlier from Austria, via Germany (where he studied winemaking) and South Africa. He married local Kiwi Agnes Wilkins, and two years later they realised their shared dream of growing grapes. 1976 was their maiden vintage, and 40+ years on the Seifrieds are still going strong. (Not to mention racking up a host of awards.) If you're a NZ Sauvignon fan, then this is a must! Gooseberry fresh Split Rock holds its own with whites twice the price.
"Everything we wanted from a New Zealand Sauv blanc! And nice to be introduced to one from Nelson"
