Sunshine Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Marlborough

Sunshine Bay is one of our most popular Kiwi Sauvignon and the 2018 vintage tastes as good as ever. It’s made by husband and wife team Phil and Chris Rose, who planted some of Marlborough’s first Sauvignon vines in 1978 on the now-famous Golden Mile.

Winemaking is very much a family affair on the Rose estate. Phil and Chris Rose first saw the potential for crafting Sauvignon Blanc in what is now known as Marlborough’s Golden Mile in 1978. They were one of the first to do so and had to ask permission from the authorities! Times have changed a little since then! For the ever-popular Sunshine Bay, Phil and Chris select parcels from low-yielding vineyards to deliver the intense aromatics and fruit for which Marlborough is renowned. And this 2018 vintage is another great expression of that classic Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc style. Think brisk citrus mingling with intense gooseberry flavours, cut grass freshness and a crisp mineral finish. It’s hard to think of anything more refreshing.

"Lots of vibrant green and tropical fruit – just what you want from a Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. Classic" Dan Parrott
