The Story Behind the Bottle
A beautiful property set in historic buildings surrounded by immaculately laid out gardens, Billecart-Salmon is a small Champagne house with a big reputation – counting award winning wine writer Robert Parker among its many fans. It was founded in 1818 when Nicolas François Billecart married Elisabeth Salmon, and has remained family owned over almost two centuries. One of their wines, the Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart 1959, was placed first out of 150 entrants in the Champagne of the Millennium competition in 1999.
Made from Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, all selected from their own carefully tended vineyards, this lovely pink fizz is perfect for any celebration – on its own or with a selection of canapés.
