Champagne Bollinger La Grande Année (magnum) 2015
Handcrafted every step of the way, this Pinot Noir-rich cuvée comes from 11 top cru villages. Only made in the very best vintages, it is " full-bodied, layered and textural, with a dense core of fruit" (Wine Advocate, 95pts). Very fine in magnum.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Story Behind the Bottle
Established in Ay in 1829, Bollinger is without doubt one of the top names in Champagne. It remains a family company and is run by a great grandson of founder Ghislain de Montgolfier. Winemaker is Gilles Descôtes, known for his muscular style of Champagnes. 71% of the grapes come from Grand Cru vineyards and the rest from Premier Cru, blended from 11 villages. Crucially, the wine is barrel fermented, an expensive process adding considerably to the depth and complexity of flavour. Bottles are also turned by hand and disgorged (the removal of yeast sediment) manually as well. Thus La Grande Année is as much a work of art as a tribute to winemaking science. Creamy, concentrated and complex, this Champagne is ready now but will cellar well too.
