A blend of vintages from 20 Crus, the Brut Classic from this prestigious Champagne house promises superb richness and finesse. Pinot dominated, it has expressive fruit married with the toasty nut and brioche notes of long lees ageing. Very fine.

The Story Behind the Bottle
Established in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, Deutz was a founding member of Champagne's prestigious Grandes Marques. This Champagne house remains today one of the most revered in the appellation. With over 100 hectares of their own vineyards, all in the finest crus of the region, they can use largely their own estate-grown grapes. This is unusual in Champagne. Their headquarters and château are in Aÿ, with extensive cool cellars below ground in which to age the thousands of bottles of Champagne on their precious lees. This ageing process adds many layers of complexity to the ripe fruit of the wines. A beautifully balanced fizz, with underlying minerality to keep this fresh and vital. Worthy of the greatest celebration.
