The Story Behind the Bottle
Château Lartenac is part of the Perrier family’s estate with over 52 hectares of vineyard in Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur areas. Its origins date back to the early 19th century when the Saintonge family first bought land in the Entre-Deux-Mers. In 1970, the property was given a new lease of life when the third generation, Anne-Marie Perrier and her husband Francis, enlarged the estate and 30 years later their children, Dominique and Nathalie, completed a modern underground cellar. Today the fifth generation has taken the reins. They make a very appealing style of claret, with silky fruit, elegance and freshness, appealing now, but that can be cellared to. Ideally open early and decant an hour or two before serving.
