Flavour Profile
This classic Sancerre owes its brilliance to the chalk and limestone soils known as ‘caillottes’ for which the village of Chavignol is famous. It’s a riveting wine with a great medal-winning history, crafted by Serge and Elisabeth Laporte.
The Laporte’s 10-hectare domaine has been in the family for generations and looks set to remain so for at least one more – they’ve now been joined by their son Guillaume. He spent three years studying winemaking at the university in Tours, and has further raised the quality of an already excellent estate.
This is pure Sauvignon Blanc at its finest, with incredible mineral richness and pristine citrus and herbaceous flavours. A most elegant aperitif, it also goes very well with warm goat’s cheese salad or seafood of all kinds.
