The Story Behind the Bottle
This limited-edition Riserva is a joint project between Sofia Barbanera (from the family cellar behind our bestselling Super Tuscan, Saracosa) and the estate’s renowned wine consultant, Andrea Bernardini. They discovered an exceptional Primitivo vineyard in the prized Manduria region of Puglia that was too good to pass up. 2022 was a hot, dry summer (even for Puglia), producing extremely bold, concentrated red wines. That intensity is even greater thanks to the addition of grapes left long on the vine. After three years ageing, it’s rich and complex with notes of ripe cherries, blackberries, liquorice and spice. Just the partner for hearty dishes and game.
