Silky texture, light tropical notes, peppery spice
The Spirit
Clean, fresh and bright, with a pleasing silky texture and weight, this is a great Tequila to pour, solo or mixed. Translated its name means 'bolt of lightning' and in Mexican folklore, it was this lightning flash that struck blue agave on hills close to Tequila. A local camposino followed the glow and discovered its source was the 'cooked' agave. And so Tequila, the drink, was born! The blue Weber agave for El Rayo is hand-planted, left to grow for eight years, then hand harvested and crafted to ensure the purest of flavour. Herbal aromas lead to notes of citrus, a touch of pineapple and a hint of peppery spice. A joy to sip solo over ice, to top with tonic, or to get more adventurous and use as a base for cocktails.
