Flavour Profile
Glenfarclas 12 Year Old is a rich Highland single malt that embodies the distillery’s character with the help of Oloroso sherry casks.
In 1865, cattle breeder John Grant purchased the Glenfarclas distillery and adjacent farm, for the sum of £511 and 19 shillings. It was ideally positioned, halfway between his other distillery, Glenlivet, and the Elgin cattle market.
Six generations later, little has changed. It remains in the Grant family, who source their water from the crystal-clear spring that bubbles up from the granite soils at the foot of Ben Rinnes.
Over the years they have built an impressive reputation for single malts of exceptional quality and value, and every year win many awards. Glenfarclas is also renowned for its well-aged single malts like this mellow 12-year-old, aged in Oloroso sherry casks. Full-bodied and complex with rich notes of sherried fruit, it’s one to sip and savour.
