The Story Behind the Bottle
Il Fagiano is a long-standing customer favourite made for us by Dario Bové, an award-winning winemaker and the third generation of his family to run this great Abruzzo winery. He has a real passion for the region and its terroir, championing its natural landscapes and wildlife areas and promoting as-close-to-nature-as-possible methods from all his growers in the vineyard. Il Fagiano is pure Montepulciano, the key red grape of the region. Ripe, velvety and packed with spicy bramble fruits, cherry and plum, with a touch of spice and dark chocolate, balanced by fresh acidity, Il Fagiano is robust and food friendly. An ideal wine to enjoy as a glass on its own or with a midweek supper of pizza, fresh tomato pasta or a warming sausage casserole.
