Josef’s story is an incredible one, having arrived in Tasmania as a penniless teenager after fleeing war-torn Czechoslovakia in 1950. He became a pioneer in Tasmania’s food and wine scene and helped set up big names like Jansz and Tamar Ridge Wines, before establishing Josef Chromy in 2007 (aged 76!).
Winners of numerous medals and Trophies, including 95 points and a Gold medal for the 2024 vintage Marchington Pinot Noir, Josef Chromy is today considered one of Australia’s leading names.
