The Spirit
Mezcal Vago was inspired by love! Co-founder Judah Kupah was hospitalised in Mexico and fell in love with the nurse who treated him. Her father was Aquilino Garcia, a sustenance farmer making a little mezcal. And so, with the help of a family friend, Judah and Aquilino founded Mezcal Vago. They continue to put sustainability front of mind, planting three new agave plants for every one they use. Different colour labels signify different releases, the blue label crafted by master mezcalero Emidgio Jarquín. He roasts the agaves for 5-7 days, then cools them in the sun for a week or two, before distillation in a traditional refrescadera copper still. A top mezcal with notes of banana, caramel, vanilla, black pepper and smoky complexity.
