A deliciously bright, elegant Chardonnay from talented winemaker Jeff Carrel, Pas Vu Pas Pris is a top choice for fans of crisp, cool-climate Chardonnays like Chablis.
We've been working with Jeff since the 1990s. Born in Paris, he trained as a chemist, then fell in love with winemaking, a passion he has never lost. His home turf and deep love is for southern France, just outside Carcassonne in fact. There vines grow at a reasonably high altitude, in a cooler climate to obtain just the ripeness Jeff is after. He is renowned for being something of an eccentric, "effervescent and highly energetic, the bounciest winemaker we've ever met" said a South African colleague!
He channels this energy into making great wines, as you'll taste here. Pure unoaked Chardonnay, it's ripe and peachy with crisp apple, juicy melon and lemon zing. Chill down and serve with roast chicken, shellfish or noodles.
