That's thanks to the area's long, cool ripening season and its renowned terra rossa soils, which results in fine, rich, well-structured reds, with bold velvety fruit. These famous soils are a magic mixture of red volcanic earth over porous limestone and clay, which makes for superb concentration in its wines.
