The Story Behind the Bottle
We use our Selección Especial label for secret deal wines from top cellars, bottled anonymously and sold for a fraction of their value. We can’t reveal the name, but we can tell you that there are only 31 ‘Grandes Pagos’ or ‘Great Estates’ in all of Spain, and one of those is the winery behind this new Selección Especial release. Numerada 72 is a single-vineyard cuvée from premium Rioja Alta, home to the most elegant expressions of Rioja. Made from handpicked Tempranillo grapes and aged patiently in barrel and bottle, it marries sumptuous black fruit with creamy vanilla, hints of tobacco and smoky spice.
