Sendero de Campos Albariño 2021

Albariño has fast become a star of fresh white wines. Customers love its crisp, distinctive character. Less well known, however, is that thanks to all that freshness, it ages beautifully too.
The two prime places to find the grape are in Rîas Baixas in north-west Spain, and just over the border in northern Portugal (known there as Alvarinho). Due to the raging demand for Albariño, our buyer Sarah Everden set out to find you the very best she could. She found gold with Juan Antonio Leza’s daring blend.
Leza is a renowned winemaker having worked for a top Rioja winery and his own family estate. Happy to break some rules to make the perfect wine, he crossed borders to craft this white. In truth it’s only ‘rule breaking’ by a stroke of a pen that establishes the national borders. And who cares when it tastes this good? Now with a handsome five years’ age, it has creamy, rounded apricot fruit underscored by citrus – a top white with seafood and creamy chicken dishes.
