Born in Burgundy, winemaker Sophie Schaal, alongside husband Julien, established Vins Schaal in Hunawihr, a picturesque Alsatian village that has earned its place as one of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’. The focus is on allowing each vineyard to develop and express its own character that is reflected in their wines.
This Riesling has an intensely aromatic nose, with layers of orange blossom, lime zest and ripe tropical fruits that mingle with a delicate minerality and hints of white peach. The palate brings a vibrant fusion of lemon curd, zesty citrus and crisp green apples, with a clean minerality elegant, fresh finish.
On its own, it makes a mouth-watering aperitif – especially on a bright summer’s day – or enjoy it alongside fresh seafood dishes with a garlic-based sauce.
