The Wine
Norrel Robertson is a winemaker with a formidable reputation. His family estate based in the high, desert-like hills of Calatayud produces stellar wines that regularly score well over 90, with his renowned Matequemada Garnacha recently awarded 98 points and Best Wine of Aragón. He is one of only three Masters of Wine in Spain, gaining his qualification in record time with highest mark for his theory paper. Guns of Garnacha comes from Campo do Borja, the high, sun-scarred landscape of which was often used as a quasi Wild West landscape in a filmset. This juicy red is ablaze with smooth, ripe fruit with a hint of spice, that makes it very appealing and smooth. Just the wine for serving with grilled meats, a veggie bake or even meaty fish.
