From Navarra in northeast Spain, next door to Rioja, this sumptuous Reserva captures the spirit of the region by blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Spain’s native, expressive Graciano. Winemaker Milagros Rodriguez selects only the finest parcels from Bodegas de Sarria, an esteemed estate located along the historic Pilgrim’s Way near Pamplona. Aged for two years in a combination of American and French oak, then rested in bottle, it reveals layers of ripe, silky berry fruit, toasty vanilla, warming spice, all carried through to a long, satisfying finish. Velvety yet structured, complex yet graceful, it pairs beautifully with roast beef, lamb, rich casseroles, or a generous board of aged cheeses. Decant an hour before serving.
