Flavour Profile
Willem the Silent Blanc hails from the Vaucluse, a southern Rhône wine region just on the edge of Provence. Its sunny vineyards nurture an array of native grapes, like Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Roussanne, that make vibrant, bright-fruit white wines.
It may not be well known but the Vaucluse is home to such famous wine villages as Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. And it’s lucky enough to share the same climate and have similar soils too. The white wines of this region are often overlooked but they combine gorgeous aromatics with generous, ripe fruit.
Willem the Silent is a delicious example, made by award-winning Châteauneuf-du-Pape winemaker Thierry Ferlay. With tantalising aromas of fragrant white flowers and abundant, fresh peach and apricot fruit, it’s ideal as an aperitif or with risottos.
