Windsor & Eton Brewery brewed Windsor Knot in 2012 to mark the marriage of Prince William & Kate Middleton, and it’s become a permanent favourite. Brewed just down the road from Windsor Castle, this pale ale uses two carefully selected hops – Sovereign and Nelson Sauvin – giving it a floral, exotic fruit character. At 4.5% ABV, it pours a bright amber/golden tone. Aromas of lime, lychee, mango and soft tropical hints unfold gently. The palate is well balanced: malt supports but never overshadows the hop-driven fruit, with a clean, refreshing bitterness and dry finish. An easy, stylish beer with personality and deal with English cheeses, meat pies, or simply for sipping in the garden.
