The Story Behind the Bottle
Chile has earned a 5-star reputation for crafting supple Bordeaux-style reds. Our latest find is from a winery founded in 1966 by Pablo Morande, a pioneer of climate-cool Casablanca vineyards and the renowned winery Empresas Lourdes. After investment in 2000, they built an underground, gravity-fed cellar, complete with concrete eggs, ceramic tanks and the ability to make experimental batches from unique grape varieties. It’s no wonder Pablo won ‘Winemaking Legend’ in 2022. The grapes for this wine are all 2, a grape variety originally from Bordeaux, which has been adopted by Chile with great success.
