The Wine
Duemani is the masterpiece of two people – Elena Celli and wine consultant Luca D'Attoma. They had a vision to produce the finest wine, all organic and biodynamic, from Tuscany's prized Maremma region. 8km from the sea and nearly 300 metres high, their vineyards transformed the rugged landscape of rural Riparbella into biodynamic vineyards. At the top of the slope they have Cabernet Franc, nearer the bottom is Merlot and the jewel in the middle is Syrah, all on poor rocky, well-drained soils. Blessed with a constant breeze and pure sunlight, the grapes reach perfect ripeness, from which they make a very small range of terrific wines. Altrovino is their Merlot Cabernet Franc, very pure fruit, silky and long with the structure for ageing.
