The Wine
This luscious berry-spiced red captures the warmth and passion of the southern Rhône. Made by the Laudun Chusclan winery on the river’s right bank, the grapes all hail from vineyards around the village of Chusclan and its beautiful medieval castle, Château de Gicon. There, its large pebble-stone terrain – very similar to that of nearby Châteauneuf-du-Pape – produces gorgeous ripeness in the grapes and warm, luscious fruit and spice in the wine. It’s an irresistible Côtes du Rhône which handily comes in a 3-litre box. Not only does the box keep it fresh for longer and make it easy to enjoy a single glass, but, equivalent to four bottles in a box, it’s a smarter, eco-friendly way to buy.
