Flavour Profile
Crisp, elegant and bursting with Mediterranean sunshine, Terra di Nonno is a refreshing Vermentino – a classy alternative to Italy’s usual go-to whites.
Back in 1958, a group of 68 winemakers from the town of Menfi in Sicily signed a pact to preserve the island’s vineyards and protect their way of life. The group went on to form pioneering Cantine Settesoli, now one of Sicily’s most respected wineries and twice named Winery of the Year.
Winemaker Andrea Palermo’s grandfather was one of those original 68 pioneers – and Terra di Nonno (‘Grandpa’s Land’) is a tribute to him. Carrying on the family legacy, Andrea uses grapes from the same vineyards his Nonno once tended.
In the glass, expect ripe pear and apple, plenty of zesty citrus and delicate floral notes that make each sip wonderfully thirst-quenching. It’s the perfect aperitif and a superb match with salads, grilled fish and all types of seafood.
