Vintage after vintage, the wines of this Second Growth Saint-Estèphe show just why Château Cos d’Estournel is considered among the legends of Bordeaux’s Left Bank. And with two 98 point scores, from James Suckling and Wine Advocate, their 2017 does not disappoint. It lies in the south of the commune, on the border with Pauillac, and is regarded as the leading estate of the appellation. As you'd expect, the wine is Cabernet led, with 32% Merlot, aged in 60% new oak to match the power of the fruit. Located near the Gironde River, Cos d'Estournel vineyards avoided the devastating April frosts of 2017, so the wine delivers all the fresh intensity of the vintage along with the lush charm of this great château. A wine that will reward patience.
