With many awards and a patchwork of vineyards throughout Burgundy to their name, the Drouhin family have a lot to be proud of. Their winemaking tradition stretches back four generations, to when Joseph Drouhin moved to Beaune in 1880, purchased a vineyard and founded the business. Since then, each successive generation has sought to develop the estate, adding vineyards in a variety of enviable locations. The family’s Bourgogne is crafted with the same care and attention they use on all their wines. Grapes include parcels from Morey St Denis and Chambolle Musigny, all hand picked with gentle pressing and fermentation. Ageing in 20% new oak lends spice and structure. Open early, serve in large bowled glasses, enjoy with chicken with girolles.
