Nothing quite compares to Lafite. And this outstanding 2017 is no exception. Composed of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Merlot and 0.5% Petit Verdot, it is a superb expression of everything that makes this estate exemplary. Understandably, it has received significant critical acclaim. Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (Wine Advocate) awarded 97-99 points. She commented that the wine was “a little shy on the nose to begin with”, but then, “POW – the paradoxically ethereal, medium bodied palate hits you with vibrant, exhilarating black fruit and previously latent floral layers”. Framed by exquisitely ripe, wonderfully fine grained tannins, it has exhilarating freshness typical of the 2017 vintage and a very long, perfumed finish. A class act indeed.
