When Averys of Bristol released a bespoke gin to celebrate 225 years’ trading in the city of Bristol, it was only fitting they revived an old Bristol Method brand. Clean, dry and citrus charged, it’s a refreshing change from London or Plymouth gins.

Smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a crisp citrus finish
Aroma
Lively citrus aromas, layered with coriander and cardamom
Here’s an unusual snifter for anyone who’s been caught by the craft gin wave that’s swept the UK. It’s made in the Bristol Method, which entails distilling each botanical in small, separate batches to capture the purest flavours. This gives the distiller greater control over the final taste of the gin by enabling them to blend each component into one, finely tuned whole. Artisan producers Will Betts and Michael Palij crafted Silver Lizard following a handwritten recipe dating back to the 1870s. It uses a blend of nine botanicals including juniper, fresh Valencian late oranges, fresh lemon, vanilla and cardamom. This gives a crisp, reviving gin with a velvety mouthfeel. Ideal garnished with a slice of pink grapefruit and crushed mint leaves.
