The Comeback King Sauvignon Blanc 2020
The 2020 vintage was perfect for Robertson, giving bold fruit and bracing freshness. Winemaker Johan Stemmet has brought out the juicy tropical spectrum of passion fruit and ripe fig, cut through by an insistent tang of citrus and gooseberry.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Story Behind the Bottle
A fresh, fruity Sauvignon from an estate in renowned Robertson. It’s named after Jacobus de Wet, founder of the property (in 1859) and great grandfather of current owner Peter de Wet. He'd built his fortune on a 'feather palace' – ostrich feathers – a thriving haute couture business until WW1 and the advent of open top cars, which rendered ostrich feather hats impractical! He invested next in breeding horses (another Robertson speciality), then planted extensive vineyards. Nowadays not only do the de Wets make great wine, but they also support many community projects. This white uses grapes harvested in two batches – early for freshness, and a later batch for ripe tropical fruits. This well zipped, fruity white makes a refreshing glassful.
