Officially classified as a 3ème Cru Classé, Château Palmer is also known as a ‘Super Second’, a Bordeaux estate that approaches the quality of the First Growths. Situated at the heart of Margaux, Palmer is regarded as a top property in the appellation. It bears the name of Charles Palmer, a British Army officer who purchased the vineyards in 1814 and spent three decades developing the estate. Its wines typically have a higher proportion of Merlot in the blend than other leading properties on the Left Bank. The 2022 vintage has been lauded by critics, including 98-99 points from Suckling and 95-97 points from Wine Advocate. Aromas of black fruit, tobacco and violets lead to a concentrated, compact and muscular palate. Will age very well.
