As Vinous wrote of the Bordeaux 2022 vintage, contrary to the hot growing season, the wines are “infused with freshness” That played straight into the hands of Château Hosanna, whose unusually high percentage of Cabernet Franc (26% - Pomerol usually has very little, if any) adds poise and elegance to the rich weight of Merlot. The Moueix family, who purchased the estate just over 20 years ago, have spent that time crafting it in the image of legendary Cheval Blanc, with truly unique and delicious results. Sitting on the elevated ridge of what used to be Château Certan Giraud, Hosanna is always among the most refined of Pomerols, and as Decanter says of this 2022: “Retains a sense of cool classicism. Shy still but gorgeous promise here”.
