The Story Behind the Bottle
With many awards and vineyards throughout Burgundy to their name, the Drouhin family have a lot to be proud of. Their winemaking tradition stretches back six generations, to when Jean-Baptiste Laroze purchased a vineyard in 1850. Since then, each successive generation has sought to develop the estate, adding vineyards in a variety of enviable locations. This is their entry-level white Burgundy, made with the same care and attention they use on their Grands Crus. Using hand-picked Chardonnay grapes from plots in Marsannay La Côte and Fixin, they age the wine in oak barrels (10% new) for 8 months, lending elegant notes of vanilla. The perfect balance between aromatic complexity and freshness, the wine matches beautifully with light seafood dishes and white meats.
