Superb second wine from this great Saint-Estèphe estate, showing much of the class of Cos, the wine is already approachable and well priced. Like many top Bordeaux châteaux, Cos d’Estournel uses grapes from younger vines to make a second wine, one that has many of the characteristics of the Grand Vin, but is ready to drink sooner. Les Pagodes takes its name from the ornate building in which the wines are made, which resembles an oriental pagoda. Critic James Suckling awarded the 2020 vintage 93-94 points, describing it as “a racy Pagodes with beautiful fruit and tannins that leave a nice, persistent finish” while Decanter (92 Points) calls it “precise and confident”. A superb second wine, with 30% new oak, it'll improve with cellaring.

"Silky texture, with cinnamon and saffron-laden blackberry fruits. This is precise and confident" Jane Anson
