The Story Behind the Bottle
There's a reason Veuve Clicquot is adored worldwide and one of the Champagne region's most famous names. Madame Clicquot took over the estate in 1805 and created the first crystal clear Champagne. She invented the technique of riddling – using a specialised rack to enable yeast to be collected in the neck of the bottle. It was under her guidance that Veuve Clicquot became the substantial and respected Champagne house we know and love today. Veuve’s Yellow Label is a blend of 50 to 60 parcels of cru grapes, up to 45% being Reserve wines in order to maintain the house style we all love. This and the high proportion of Pinot Noir and Meunier accounts for its rich and toasty style. A benchmark Champagne – perfect to accompany any celebration.
