Dubbed as the “Princess of Champagne” by the press, Virginie Tattinger worked alongside her father in the world-famous Tattinger Champagne empire for 21 years. But she left to strike out on her own 2006, and after studying in the Champagne region for some years, now makes excellent Champagne in her own right.Virginie sources 85% of her grapes from top Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, of which only the best juice from the first pressing (la Cuvée) goes into this Brut ChampagnePinot Noir dominates in the blend, making up two-thirds, with one third of Chardonnay, all given four years ageing on lees in bottle. Makes for delicious drinking right nowOnly tiny amounts of Virginie’s Champagne are ever made, and we are very lucky to secure a very limited run of cases. On the nose, the Pinot Noir expresses its power with beautiful aromas of stewed red fruits, while the Chardonnay provides smooth lemon curd notes. All this is layered by warm brioche and toast with fine mousse-like bubbles. True luxury in your glass.
