The Story Behind the Bottle

Dark Corner is a gorgeously smooth big red – as you'd expect from an Aussie wine dominated by the power-packed Durif grape. It was originally crafted in the darkest corner of the cellar.

Why? Because it was the special project of a rising-star winemaker who didn’t want anyone to take a look or taste it until he was absolutely ready. So, every evening, after the rest of the crew had left, he would retire to the furthest corner of the cellar, where special tanks of dark, spicy Durif and ripest, peppery Shiraz were hidden in the half light.

That first vintage was a smash hit and has since built up a big following. It’s full of gloriously ripe, liquorice- and spice-scented fruit with an underlying note of oak. Smooth enough to sip solo and even better with hearty red meat dishes.
