This is new, big bold red from the McPherson team. XV Pure is made from a blend of mostly Cabernets with a third Merlot, all selected from old vines by veteran Australian winemaker Andrew McPherson. Andrew set up a small winery in Victoria in 1968 and over the years has built it up from a cottage industry to become one of Australia’s leading names. Rated four stars by leading Australian critic James Halliday, the cellar is renowned for making delicious wines at all price levels. Bold, rich and 15% alcohol, this is a big Aussie red – packed with juicy black fruits, damsons and plum. Ageing in French oak adds a creamy texture and gentle spice, making it a perfect partner to rib of beef, slow cooked lamb shanks or a hearty casserole.

"So typical of warm-hearted Aussie winemaking veteran, Andrew McPherson, a big, bold, ripe red" Dan Parrott
