Mount Langi Ghiran Cliff Edge Shiraz 2017

one of Australia's leaders of cool climate Shiraz Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Sourced from vines with an average age of 26 years this wine was barrel aged in French oak of which 25-30% was new. Opaque black dark red colour with a dark purple hue in the glass. Showing good aromatic intensity, the nose offers up ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum scents followed by vanillin cedar, traces of dark chocolate and spice. The palate is juicier and riper than more recent releases under this label. Mouth filling flavours of dark plum, blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate sit over vanillin cedar and spicy pepper elements. Smooth opulent feel with velvety tannins finishing elegant and fresh. Long spicy pepper and dark fruit aftertaste.
