A superb modern take on dry German Riesling from a terrific seventh-generation estate. The wine is lean, piercing and poised, with lime, floral and apple aromas, citrus and mineral intensity and apricot fruit. All underlined by steely freshness.
Steely and concentrated with a touch of lemon and passion fruit
Lively lime, green apple and yellow plum aromas
German Riesling is one of the world’s great wine treasures. UK expert Tom Stevenson writes: “No other wine can offer in a single sip as much finesse, purity of fruit, intensity of flavour and thrilling acidity.” The Naegele Bonnet family have been growing Riesling in Hambach in the Pfalz region since 1796 and have been closely intertwined with the history of the village and the development of its great wines. Today the estate’s run by seventh generation Eva and Ralf Bonnet. The Pfalz is known for brisk Rieslings with more weight and ripe apricot roundness than the Mosel, but still with intense citrus and mineral freshness, and this wine delivers in spades. Enjoy by the glass as a pre-dinner drink or serve with fine fish dishes.
