The Story Behind the Bottle
Yealands is a quality driven, conscientious winery, eco friendly in nature. They like to tend their vines as naturally as possible and let the their wines taste of the grape and the land. This well-zipped Sauvignon uses carefully selected parcels from their Seaview Vineyard, called that for good reason, and a few others in the Awatere Valley, close to the sea. They are so close to the water that rolling sea mists often prevent the sun penetrating. Hence the wine's leaner, fresher style. Each parcel is cool fermented, then the blend made. And this is the gloriously fresh outcome. Bursting with ripe tropical fruit and underscored by the citrus and wet stone minerality, it's truly refreshing. A hit with seafood, salads and creamy pasta.
