Avalonia Brut NV

This is a rich, gorgeously complex and toasty bubbly, exclusive to our list. It's from an award-winning team, who have been raking in the prizes for over the last two decades. For Avalonia, they've used grapes from two exceptional estates in southern England. In one, the superb chalk and gravel soils and height of the small vineyard lend a real minerality to the wine, while the other, sited above a body of water on a well-drained slope, adds fruit and citrus. It's a fine blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, largely from the 2019 vintage, all aged on its lees, with further time in bottle. A small addition of reserve wine brings extra toasty complexity. Already drinking well, this rich fizz is a great celebration fizz.
