The Wine
Burn Cottage’s first vine was planted in Central Otago in 2003. Today they have three vineyards within which they’ve planted a selection of Pinot Noir clones grafted onto a variety of rootstocks to ensure complexity and balance in their wines. They're a biodynamic estate, using the moon phases to guide their processes. This fine red is named after the many water ways – the Moonlight Races – that deliver run-off water from the mountains and flow through the Burn Cottage estate. The wine is a delicious blend of grapes from the three vineyards – one in Lowburn and two in Bannockburn – which ensures a enticing freshness in this classic Central Otago Pinot Noir. Aged a year in French oak, it’s a superb silky red with complexity and poise.
