Flavour Profile
Château Canet is a beautiful southern French estate just outside Carcassonne, in the heart of the Minervois wine region. Today owned by Floris and Victoria Lemstra, it’s one of the Minervois’ leading domaines.
Floris’ Canet Rôtie was inspired by the highly prized red wines of Côte-Rôtie. He’s taken select parcels of rich, bold Syrah and given them an aromatic lift by adding a small amount of Viognier. The result is a red that’s powerful yet refined and silky – one of the best Côte-Rôtie lookalikes we’ve tasted and incredible value.
“Canet Rôtie is an absolute beauty. Made by Floris and Victoria Lemstra at Ch. Canet in Minervois, its a blend of (red) Syrah and (white) Viognier and a Côte Rotie in all but name (and price). Its rich and robust with ripe, earthy dark fruit and yet delicate and elegant too, with freshness and finesse on the finish.
