The Story Behind the Bottle
Château de Beaucastel is one of the most prestigious estates of Châteauneuf du Pape. It’s also one of the most historic, dating back to Pierre de Beaucastel’s purchase of land in 1549, after which the château was built. Today this organic estate is run by the highly respected Perrin family. Château de Beaucastel is best known for its red wines, but its magnificent, rich whites are in the same elite league, winning top scores every vintage. Just seven of Beaucastel’s 130 hectares are devoted to white varietals, and most of that to old vine Roussanne. The Perrins are firm believers in the calibre of this white grape.
