The Story Behind the Bottle
Bertrand is one of the great family names of the Languedoc. We first met Georges Bertrand in 1972 and he agreed to make a rich, warm Corbières red, using grapes from his estate, Domaine de Villemajou. 50 years on, his son, Gérard, has elevated the estate to great heights. A hugely successful rugby player, Gérard gave up the sport for wine. He's won a huge number of awards, including most recently 'Master Winemaker of the World 2023' (Drinks Business). This deep, brooding red is drinking beautifully now but will age gracefully. Testament to the expert winemaking.
