The Story Behind the Bottle
Owned by the Nicolas family, Château La Conseillante lies on the boundary of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol, next door to the renowned Châteaux Cheval Blanc and Vieux Château Certan. Situated on some of the best terroir in Pomerol and with the efforts of winemaker Marielle Cazaux and team, La Conseillante has “firmly established [itself] at the very top of Pomerol’s qualitative hierarchy in recent vintages” (WA). There’s great praise for the 2022 vintage. Decanter called it “utterly fabulous” and Wine Advocate said it’s “a beautifully supple, suave wine that retains all the estate’s signature elegance”. It’s a blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, aged in 70% new oak. Blackberries. raspberries, hints of rose petal, and velvety tannins.
