Flavour Profile
This Bordeaux white wine from Château Le Coin offers the perfect balance of delicious creamy roundness and citrusy freshness. It’s a collaboration between our award-winning winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua and Château Le Coin’s owner, Ludovic Roussillon.
The key ingredient is Sauvignon – Gris that is, not Blanc – which combines spicy richness and lime freshness. All the grapes are grown at Ludovic’s superb estate in the Entre-Deux-Mers, just across the river from Bordeaux’s grand Saint-Émilion estates. His claret is always a hit, and nine years ago we persuaded him to make a white for us too.
The limestone soils bring lovely fruit intensity, while old-vine grapes and a tiny portion of oak fermentation lend a touch of richness. Great on its own or with a creamy gratin.
