Some say an accidental fire charred the barrels; others say he used former sugar barrels and liked how the charring improved his whiskey flavours. Whatever it was, it cemented his place in history, earning him the title ‘Father of Bourbon’. Now, all Elijah Craig bourbons are aged in Level 3 new oak barrels. This imparts aromas of caramel, wood smoke and spice that you love. Expect classic bourbon flavours of sweet vanilla and oak.
